In addition to the technological capabilities of the system and the added benefits for drivers, the system has the potential to generate indirect revenue for vehicle importers through direct communication with the driver. The system acts as a platform for active customer retention by allowing the sending of messages to the driver through the multimedia screen and mobile application. For instance, these messages could include prompts for car insurance renewal, introductions of new car models, notifications about sales and service events, and the provision of advanced road services, all while displaying the vehicle's location at the service center, and more.
Moreover, the information derived from the vehicle may encompass data such as the driver's behavior, serving as an actuarial index for insurance companies, the condition of the vehicle's battery, the distance traveled by the vehicle, and other relevant data.

The Challenge

Lubinski Group sought to develop a connected vehicle solution as an OEM to maintain and strengthen their relationship with customers beyond the initial sale. This platform would include location-based services, vehicle information, and generic apps.

The Solution

Lubinski Group sought to develop a connected vehicle solution as an OEM to maintain and strengthen their relationship with customers beyond the initial sale. Their goal was to create a software platform that would offer chauffeur services and enhance the driving experience in terms of safety, productivity, and convenience. This platform would include location-based services, vehicle information, and generic apps.

With a SIM card and constant internet connectivity, the system provides a broad spectrum of applications that significantly enhance usability for the driver in an unprecedented manner. This includes full Waze navigation, internet radio, connectivity to service and emergency centers, parking applications, a complete link to the call center for coordinating visits to service centers, and other value-added services. The app also integrates Voice Over IP technology, enabling communication with the vehicle when it is not possible to contact the driver via mobile phone.

The solution also integrates a dedicated application on the smart mobile that enables viewing vehicle data, reconstructing the route, receiving alerts about exceeding speed, exit defined areas and more.

Through the app, the vehicle driver has the option to schedule regular maintenance for the vehicle, along with an automatic reminder from the system approximately 500 km before the scheduled validation check or a reminder about the annual vehicle inspection date.
The connected vehicle platform is based on an application installed in the multimedia system in Peugeot Citroën vehicles, and enables the accessibility of a variety of services and information to the driver, such as:

 • Internet
 • radio
 • Apps (Waze, Music, etc.)
 • Location-based services
 • Navigation
 • Accident detection
 • Real-time support
 • 24/7 service
 • Access to the emergency call center
 • Car maintenance and reservation

Results and conclusions

Beyond displaying the informants and connecting the car driver to the service centers, the system serves as a platform for active customer retention by sending push notifications, managing the data combined with a dedicated smartphone application that allows viewing the vehicle, reconstructing the route and receiving alerts about exceeding speed, and more.

The platform was developed, open and flexible for changes and updates at any given moment without limitation in the type/model and size of the multimedia device chosen for the various models and brands.

The application allows the vehicle importer the control over informants, service, connectivity and flexibility to make changes and ownership of the nature of the services and display.
